Be Consistent

It’s not uncommon for children to have a bad first day of school, especially if they are starting at a new school. As the parent, it’s your job to reassure your kiddo and encourage them to give preschool another chance. It’s easy for you to let your emotions get the best of you and decide to take your child out of school. However, if you take your child out of school after one bad day, it sets a bad example for the rest of your child’s life. Instead of facing their problems, your child will learn that it’s okay to run away. Instead, try to work through the problem together and come up with a solution. Then, the next time that you drop your little one off at preschool, reinforce the fact that you will be back at the end of the day.

Set Expectations

Children are naturally curious and they like to know what is going on. Instead of sneaking away, even if your little one is already off playing with new friends, make sure to tell them that you are leaving and that you will see them at the end of the day.
