One of the main focuses at Ivy League Preschool Academy is to provide children with age appropriate activities. Customized learning means each child receives the proper education in relation to age. This blog is focusing on our kindergarten students in Port St. Lucie. Here are some great activities you can do with your children at home throughout the holiday season.

Feather Letter Turkey

All of our little ones love the turkey crafts around Thanksgiving. One of the big milestones for kindergarteners is properly spelling and writing his or her name. Create a paper plate turkey with colorful construction paper feathers. Choose the number of feathers based on the length of your child’s name and then write a letter of the name on each feather to create a very unique turkey.

Write A Letter To Santa

Now is a great time of year to start practicing writing. A letter to Santa is a fun way to practice writing, the proper way to address a letter, talk about the USPS, and (most fun of all) start the holiday spirit with Santa. Parents, you can actually mail your letter to Santa! Address the letter to: Santa Claus, North Pole. Check out all of the steps here:

Create A Cardboard Chanukiah

A great way to celebrate Chanukah is to use cardboard tubes to create a chanukiah. Paint, color, or decorate the cardboard tubes however you and your kindergartener feel fit, and then cut yellow/gold construction paper into the shape of a flame to tape on top of the cardboard tube. Arrange your chanukiah wherever you’d like, and add a flame each day to “light” your candles.

Enjoy the time you have with your kindergartener! We look forward to continuing teaching and learning with our kindergarten class in Port St. Lucie at Ivy League Preschool Academy.
