If you read our last blog, then you know the first 5 tips and tricks to help prepare your child for their first day of preschool or kindergarten in Port St. Lucie at Ivy League Preschool Academy. To finish off our tips list, here are the last few tips and tricks we recommend to prepare your child for their first day of school!

  1. Be sure to stay organized! The more organized you are, the more confident and prepared your child will feel. Routine is a must with a small child. It is good to have your child be involved with what outfit they want to wear the next day and to even eat breakfast together. Another great way to help them to get excited is to have your child help you pack their lunch for the next day.

  2. Reassuring your child goes a long way. You should be spending plenty of time with your child before kindergarten commences. You should tell them about all of the wonderful things they will get to experience and all of the awesome friends they will make.

  3. Be supportive and learn that it is okay to let go! Having your child go to school can not only be frightful for them, but for you as well. If you are a stay at home parent, sending your baby off to school can be on the of the hardest things you will do. Send positive vibes and involve your child in many variations by creating fun and exciting opportunities for your child outside of school as well as inside. Always tell your little one that you’ll be waiting for them when school is out! It is important to never be late picking them up from school.
