Prepare your Child for their 1st Day of Kindergarten in Port St. Lucie Part 1

School is going to be starting before you know it. Are you prepared to send off your child to preschool or kindergarten in Port St. Lucie? If you think your child is ready, but you are worried that your child will have a hard time letting go of you to spend their days in a kindergarten class with their friends, you have come to the right place. During this blog, our Ivy League Preschool Academy will give you some easy tips and tricks to follow in order to prepare your child for their first day of kindergarten.

  1. It is always a wonderful idea to take your new kindergartener to their school in advance! Do this to ensure they know where the bathroom, cafeteria and their classroom are. Your child will feel reassured that they know where they are and will feel more confident because of it.

  2. Come meet the teacher! We invite you to come meet your child’s kindergarten teacher in advance. When you do this, your child will be able to feel more comfortable right off the bat and your child will like to see a familiar face.

  3. Ask us for a school handbook. It is always good for the parents and the school to be on the same page when it comes to expectations of your child.

  4. Take your child to go shopping for school supplies! This is usually the best part about a new school year. Your child will be eager for their first day of school when you bring them shopping for new school supplies.

  5. Make sure you have a class schedule. Having your child’s new kindergarten schedule will help you to organize your normal daily activities around your child’s schedule, making them feel like nothing has been forgotten or changed.

Stay tuned for our next blog where we will finish giving you tips and tricks on how to prepare your child for their first day of school at Ivy League Preschool Academy.
