What kind of security does Ivy League Preschool Academy provide for our students?

To help keep our students safe, Ivy League Preschool Academy assigns each family a code to access entry into our facility. Classrooms have large viewing windows for added supervision and closed circuit cameras in each classroom and playground for additional supervision. We require written permission from a parent/guardian for us to release a student for pick up by family members or friends. Whether your child is with us for after school activities or preschool education in Port St. Lucie, you can rest assured that our security measures are keeping them safe

What ages of children do you provide programs for?

The Ivy League Preschool Academy offer programs for children ages six weeks (Infant) to 12-years-old (School-age). We offer preschool education, kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, fifth and now sixth grade and after school activities.

What are Ivy League Preschool Academy hours of operations?

The Ivy League Preschool Academy in Port St Lucie is open Monday through Friday from 6:30am-6:30pm, year round.

When is Ivy League Preschool Academy closed?

The Ivy League Preschool Academy in Port St Lucie is closed: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, in addition to the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

The Ivy League Preschool Academy academic programs (Florida VPK, and Private School) operate on a school year calendar. On some days we are open for childcare, fun-day, or drop-in care for after school activities but not for school. We offer summer, winter and spring camp for all children ages 3 and up.

The Ivy League Preschool Academy offers full-time, part-time, flexible VPK wrap-around, extended day, and drop-in programs to provide added flexibility and options for our customers.

What is the philosophy of Ivy League Preschool Academy?

Whether your child is with us for preschool education, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, or simply after school activities in Port St. Lucie. The Ivy League Preschool Academy provides developmentally appropriate education, with an emphasis on health and wellness, and combines play and traditional learning methods to lay the foundation for a successful educational career. We provide support and learning to encourage each child’s social development to help them become confident, responsible, well-rounded, and compassionate citizens. Our program is designed to introduce and expand on numerous subjects such as Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art and Music. The daily schedule in each classroom allows for large group, small group, and individual activities in order to build each child’s social and educational skills.

Ivy League Preschool Academy is an Accredited Program through A.P.P.L.E. (Accredited Professional Preschool Environment) and a State of Florida Gold Seal Quality of Care school.

What does Ivy League Preschool Academy’s Curriculum include?

Our preschool age students (Freshman, Sophomores and Seniors) use Houghton Mifflin & Harcourt Pre-K curriculum. A State of Florida Approved Curriculum with VPK Standards embedded and Art, Math, Music and Movement, Science, Social Studies, Sign Language, Large and Small Motor Development.

Our youngest learner’s use a high-quality curriculum for children in child care, daycare or preschool education for age’s birth through five from High Reach Learning, providing many opportunities for active exploration, creating powerful and positive interactions for learning.

Ivy League Preschool Academy understands the challenges of continually thinking of fresh, new ideas that are developmentally appropriate, meet a full range of required standards, and will interest and inspire your children.

All of our curriculum programs provide easy-to-follow learning explorations for a broad range of engaging topics.

In addition, High Reach Learning curriculum provided by Ivy League Preschool Academy also includes essential, coordinating classroom support materials for a truly integrated experience.

The Private School Program (Kindergarten – 6th Grade) will offer a low student to teacher ratio (lower than the public schools), NO Teacher Work Days, or Early Release Days to worry about. The curriculum will focus on the New Common Core Standards of Education that the State of Florida and Nation is changing over too. Forty states have already changed over to this standard.

What are the qualifications of Ivy League Preschool Academy teachers?

Every member of our qualified and dedicated staff participates in ongoing professional development in the field of Early Childhood Education. Our teachers are trained in First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse Prevention, and Communicable Disease Prevention. Each classroom is staffed with a credentialed teacher who has experience.

Does Ivy League Preschool Academy have an open door policy?

Yes! Ivy League Preschool Academy welcomes, and encourages, our families to come and go as they please. You’re welcomed to join us for lunch, volunteer in the classroom, stop by for a quick visit, pick-up and drop-off around a doctor’s appointment, etc. Want to participate in some after school activities with your child? We encourage it!

What is Ivy League Preschool Academy’s illness policy?

Ivy League Preschool Academy takes illness very seriously and looks at every case individually. While we’re not doctors, the staff at Ivy League Preschool Academy in Port St. Lucie have been trained to look for signs of illness in order to help keep all of our students, staff, and their families as safe, happy, and healthy as possible. In the event that your child becomes ill during the day, and this illness meets exclusion criteria, you will be contacted for immediate pick up. We ask that your child remain out of the program until they have been symptom free for at least 24 hours or with a doctor’s note verifying that they the ill child is not contagious and is able to participate in all daily activities. We ask that you keep us posted on illnesses your child may experience to warn other parents of possible exposure. (Anonymity will be maintained for the ill child). We trust that parents will make the right choice to keep their child home when ill but reserve the right to send a child home in the event that we fear the risk of exposure to other students. How does Ivy League Preschool Academy keep things clean and sanitized?

The Ivy League Preschool Academy works hard to ensure a clean, healthy environment for all of our students. We do all of our cleaning in house to ensure that proper sanitation of toys, furniture, etc. is maintained. We take great pride in our proven track record limiting the spread of illnesses.

How do snacks and meals work at Ivy League Preschool Academy?

Ivy League Preschool Academy provides a healthy Breakfast, Lunch and afternoon snack for each students consisting of items such as fruit, vegetables, crackers, pretzels, etc. in addition to milk. Ivy League Preschool Academy provides infants with formula and developmentally appropriate meals. All of our meals are included in all of our preschool education, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, and after school activities programs.

Does Ivy League Preschool Academy have a playground?

Yes. Ivy League Preschool Academy offers outdoor play areas. Students in our programs have scheduled outside time daily and when they are unable to go outside they’re able to play in our large classrooms. The playground area is divided by a fence for the younger and older students.

How do I know what my child’s doing each day?

Everyday each child has a daily sheet completed that is sent home in the evening with infant – two year old parents and weekly for the older student’s parents. It includes information about your child’s day, reminders, special event etc. Parents and teachers also have the opportunity to talk to their child’s teacher at pick up and drop off daily. Phones are located in every classroom, although we ask that calls remain quick as the teachers’ primary focus must be care and attention for our students. The office staff is available by phone, e-mail, or drop in conversations daily.

Does Ivy League Preschool Academy participate in any developmental screenings or provide any other assessments?

Depending on the age group of your child, progress reports are completed quarterly or semi-annually to keep you informed of your child’s progress. The VPK students in our preschool education programs will be assessed with parent meetings after each assessment. Voluntary, ongoing, developmental screenings are also completed with the parents help. Parent/teacher conferences are available anytime, upon request, or at scheduled times each year. Ivy League Preschool Academy works hard to function as an extension of the family unit.

What are the rates at Ivy League Preschool Academy?

We’d love to share our program rates with you, but as we often have enrollment specials and customize plans to fit your needs, we ask that you contact our center for more information. We would also love to show you around our center and talk with you about your childcare needs so you can see what a value Ivy League Preschool Academy is! The Florida VPK program is FREE! The Private Kindergarten and First Grade Program has Scholarships available for a FREE education.

What extra activities can children participate in at Ivy League Preschool Academy?

Ivy League Preschool Academy offers, Winter, Spring and Summer Camp programs. In addition we have many family outings at the school functions each year, such as our Spring Egg Hunt, Halloween Parade and Winter Holiday event. We also have several after school activities your child can participate in.

Do you offer any other services to families?

We are contracted with the Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie and Martin counties for School Readiness and VPK Programs. Ivy League Preschool Academy is the Operation Military Child Care Provider and Child Care Aware provider for children of deployed Servicemen and women. Grandparents caring for children of deployed servicemen and women can also participate in the program. Ivy League Preschool Academy’s Private Kindergarten and First Grade Program participates in the Step up for Students and McKay scholarship programs for FREE tuition.
